PAOC is committed to finding loving forever homes for each and every one of our dogs. While our fosters are with us, our wonderful volunteers help daily by walking and playing with the dogs. They also train our fosters in the dog gym or in the dog park. We work very hard to be sure all of our foster kids are happy, healthy, and well adjusted to be ready for their new families!

Roxie
Roxie’s story is one that breaks our hearts. 
She was dumped in a soft-sided carrier next to a garbage can, where her cries for help went unanswered for several days. Thankfully, someone finally did the right thing and contacted authorities, and Roxie was rescued.
Roxie spent 10 days being cared for at B&R Bunkhouse before making her way to PAOC. Huge thank you to Margie at Paws & Effect Inc. for her loving care during Roxie’s grooming. We are certain Roxie feels so much better and boy does she look amazing! Today, Rosie had her first veterinary exam with us. We were concerned about a possible pyometra, but thankfully, X-rays confirmed that is not the case. Bloodwork was also done, and we’re hoping to have those results tomorrow.
Her body certainly appears as though she may have been bred in the past, but there is still so much we don’t know about her history.
What we DO know is that Roxie is an incredibly sweet girl! 
She has met a couple of cats and other dogs and, so far, has been 100% good with everyone she encounters.
Whatever sadness Roxie knew before, that chapter is over. Her life is changing now. She will be safe, cherished, cared for and, most importantly, she will NEVER be tossed out with the garbage again.
Ryker
Meet Ryker, a handsome 1-year-old Beagle who has just joined the PAOC family!
Ryker’s mom suffered a devastating medical event and, through no fault of her own, was no longer able to care for Ryker or his brothers. Thankfully, Humane CNY was able to take in his two brothers, and we are thrilled to welcome Ryker to PAOC. 
This sweet boy is settling in and getting ready for his next chapter. Ryker will be available for adoption very soon!
Cats & Kittens
Well kitten season is definitely in full swing. Please remember Paws Across Oswego County is a dog rescue but the calls for cats in need is overwhelming and we are trying to help as much as we are able. This week we received a call about a kitten found at an Oswego County golf course that needed medical assistance. A few days late we were contacted by the golf course the other two ill kittens came from about another kitten that was trapped in a wall in the clubhouse. Thankfully the kind hearted staff and owner were able to remove her safely. All animals went to the vet and are getting 24 hour care by their medical foster. More information about these little ones to come! Kittens are on hold due to age.
